Brought to you by the verb “to read”
In the past, present, and future tense.
As in have been reading, are currently reading,
And might read next…or are considering reading next…
This is my variation on the meme done by others,
And very well, I might add.

Have been reading/listening to:
I finally finished Dessert First, but as it doesn’t come out until September, I’ll save my comments until closer to its release date. I’ll just say that it was a very pleasant surprise and came at a time that I was open to it, which I think made a huge difference in how I received it and how I will review it.
I read the requested book Zapata by Harper McDavid. This one was tension and fast-paced from start to finish with danger, suspense, and temptation around every corner. My review will be up closer to its August release date.
I also read the other requested book, Fortuna Sworn by K.J. Sutton. This is a first-time adult fantasy novel from an experienced author. She previously has written middle-school and YA books. She has made the leap without a misstep.
This first book of her fantasy series is excellent and I look forward to book two. I’ll be posting a full review closer to the September release date.
I squeezed in Home at Chestnut Creek by Laura Drake for one of my FB book clubs and the review is up this Friday, so I won’t go into this one. It was good.
I did listen to Rivals! Frenemies Who Changed the World by Scott McCormick and it was as funny as it was educational. I’m working on a review that I hope will do justice to it.
Then I listened to Patricia Sands book #2 of the Love in Provence series, Promises to Keep, narrated by Janet Metzger. Oh my, this was luscious. I have really enjoyed reading Patricia’s novels, but this was a whole other experience listening to it with all the French and the accents. Yes, if you are a Patricia Sands fan, and you haven’t listened to one of her novels, you owe yourself this treat. You will fall in love with her all over again!
Am currently reading/listening to:
I am finally getting to listen to Two Witches and a Whiskey by Annette Marie. This is book three in The Guild Codex: Spellbound series. Tori and her three guys are in trouble again and this time the magic police are sniffing around!
Am thinking of reading/listening to:
Book three in the Love in Provence series, I Promise You This, by Patricia Sands. Don’t know if I’ll read it or listen to it. But I’m anxious to connect the story since I’ve read books 1, 2, and 5 now.
I have two books planned for this week. One is Lethal Nights by Lora Leigh, which is a requested review book by her rep. And the other is No Good Tea Goes Unpunished by Bree Baker, book #2 in the Seaside Cafe Mysteries, that iced tea cozy series. I want to see how that series is going to go forward. I know cozies aren’t everyone’s favorite genre, but I enjoy a certain type of cozy that I can’t find without reading them. Some people can just look at the synopsis and know they’ll like them. I think some people frown on cozies, which is unfortunate. No form of literature should be frowned on. If people are reading, that’s a good thing. So, what are you reading this week?
