Brought to you by the verb “to read

In the past, present, and future tense.

As in have been reading, are currently reading,

And might read next…or are considering reading next…

This is my variation on the meme done by others,

And done very well, I might add.

I have been reading…

You Say It First, Meant to Be Yours, and A Very Merry Princess by Susan Mallery from her Happily Inc series. This was a fun series (part of) all centered around a town whose main source of revenue is the wedding business. The first book is about the wedding planner herself and it introduces her circle of friends and a bit of the town. The other two books enlarge on the circle of friends and the wedding businesses as each of the gals is involved in it in some fashion and find their true love. Even some of the men are involved in the business! I’m looking forward to finding time to read the rest of the series, there are three others.

Waters Edge by Kee Patterbee which is book one in her Hannah Starvling mystery series. This is a total overhaul of a book Ms. Patterbee released in 2014. Her character is a former FBI agent who hooks up with the local sheriff to try to solve a year-old case of a dead TV star chef. I read the 2014 version as well as this new version and I can say this one is so much better that it almost doesn’t seem related to the former story other than some common elements that I recognized.

Body Wave by Nancy J. Cohen, book four of her Bad Hair Day series with Marla and her sexy local detective. This one was better than any of the others in this series. Marla could go ahead and get into trouble with the cops by taking the case of their main suspect, who just happens to be her ex-husband! And not just trouble with the cops, but her handsome detective friend! Fun and hijinx in this one. The next one is Highlights to Heaven and there are 14 books in the series.

I’m currently reading…

The Sisters Grimm by Menna Van Praag which I just got from Edelweiss the other day. It’s not my usual stuff, but I’ve been trying to broaden my horizons a bit lately. We’ll see how I do with this one. So far, I’m finding the story okay, but the writing a bit strange and disjointed.

And I am still hanging in there with In the Shadow of Salem. I’m only on page 28 and there are 272 pages in the book, so I guess I better do something about that.

What’s new in my stash…

I Have the Answer by Kelly Fordon which I just got from Edelweiss. It’s a series of thirteen short stories of everyday people dealing with everyday problems in maybe unusual ways or maybe everyday ways.

I Want You to Know We’re Still Here by Esther Safron Foer which will be coming out in March of 2020. I got this from Edelweiss. This is a Holocaust survivors book.

The Last Real Cowboy by Caitlin Crewes, due out January of 2020. This was offered to me by his publishing rep and provided by NetGalley.

I am hoping to get to listen to…

Demon Magic and a Martini by Annette Marie, the next book in the series I had been listening to before I got sidetracked. I have a new set of wireless earbuds to test out, so I’m hoping they work really well. After I did my review on those earbuds that only lasted for 2.5 hours, the company offered to send me a whole new set for free! So, now I need to try them out!

So, have you read any of these books? Do you have any of these books on your TBR list? Share your thoughts with me in the comments, please.
